5th Laurieton 'Spring Open' - Year 2004

 

Our Weekend of Chess was keenly contested by 18 Players. And after 7 rounds Mike Canfell from Armidale emerged victorious with 5.5/7. Mike lost to hard working Gary Losh in Round 2. And Mike Weltner from Taree managed a draw. Mike was just too strong for all other players. 2nd equal to: Gary Losh, Mick Lukic and our most 'frequent flyer' from Sydney Tony Keuning with 5 points. Tony has competed in 17 weekenders in Laurieton and Taree. Thank you Tony. May Weekender Champion Oskar Hellman lost a couple of games, and 1 draw - 4/5. 6. Gil Clarke 4, 7= Mike Weltner, Mary Wilkie from Armidale, Shane Northover, George Lithgow, Endel Lane, David Mearns 3.5, 13= Leslie Wells, Matthew Northover 3, 15. Bruce Parr 2, 16= Alex Momot, Liam Crow, 18. Osman Faruqi.
