Mingara May Major 2006

Players from Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra and Norway vied for around $1500 in prize money in the Mingara May Major on the weekend of May 27th & 28th. Five times Central Coast District Champion John Nutter was the top seed in the tournament and  Gareth Charles was the second seed so it was fitting than they met in the last round. John needed a win in the the last round to tie with  Gareth  who had won all his games to that point. The game finished in a draw. Gareth Charles was1st in the tournament with an undefeated  5.5 points from 6 games. Max Illingworth was second with 5 points. followed by Johny Bolens, John Nutter and Ian Dickson all on 4.5 points
