MUSTAFA ERKAN WINS 

WOLLONGONG COLLEGIANS 2003 KNOCK-OUT

Mustafa Erkan won the final round of the  2003 Wollongong Collegians Knock-Out by defeating Zeljko Kanostrevac who took out 2nd place. After drawing both normal games Mustafa won both tie-breaking 15 min Rapidplay games.

Kosta Beretov (3rd) beat (4th) John Mazzieri by winning the first normal game and drawing the second. The remaining positions were 5th Wolfgang Brodesser, 6th Mick Gross, 7th Barry Cox, 8th Steve Ascic.

The clubs youngest player Vaness Reid was undefeated to win the 6 round Swiss for positions 9th to 18th(a Swiss is held for early eliminations in the Knock-Out). Her last round draw with Zivko Simonovski marred an otherwise winning record. She finished on 5.5/6. Second in the Swiss was Sebastian Yuen on 4.5/6 and third was Jason Hutchinson on 4/6.
