Prizes - subject to the number of entries.
The player who wins the tournament will be the New England Chess Open Winner 2022.
The highest scoring player who is a resident of the New England Region will be declared the New England Region Chess Champion 2022.
The games will be rated through the NSW Chess Association. Adult participants must be registered as members with the NSW Chess Association. Juniors, Under 18 years of age, must be members of the NSW Junior Chess League. Raings registration fee will be $10 for all country partcipants

ENTRIES ARE LIMITED TO 100 PLAYERS
7 rounds from 11 a.m.
Registration 10:15-10:30am.
Time Limit: 15 minutes each per game plus 10 seconds per move.

If registered on 8 July: $35 including all titled players

• The event will be ACF & FIDE rated. All foreign players must have a FIDE Identification number.
• All players under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian on the premises at all times.
• Entry for players under 18 years of age is restricted to those who have an ACF Quick rating of at least 1100 (if unrated then ACF standard of at least 1100) or a FIDE Rapid rating of at least 1400 (if unrated then FIDE standard of at least 1400).
• You need to register and pay by 7 July to be eligible for the early entry fee.
• Entries on the day of the tournament will be included in the round 1 draw at the arbiter’s discretion. Absolutely no entries will be accepted after 10:30am.
• Players are eligible for one prize only. Rating prizes are based on ACF ratings. Unrated players are not eligible for rating-restricted prizes.
• Forfeit times: Any player who arrives at the chessboard after their time has elapsed shall lose the game unless the arbiter decides otherwise.
• All NSW resident players must be full members for 2023 of (or join) the NSWCA or the NSWJCL.
• By entering the event, players acknowledge that the decision of the organiser (NSWCA) is final.

Foreign players without a FIDE id number will not be accepted. They will need to obtain a FIDE id number from their National Federation and advise that number prior to their entry being accepted.

• The tournament will be ACF rated.

• You need to register and pay by 3 August to be eligible for the early entry fee.

• Full-time students under 25 can enter at the junior rate. Student ID card must be produced on the day of the tournament otherwise the applicable adult entry fee will be charged.
• For the Pensioner discount, Centrelink Pension card must be produced on the day of the tournament otherwise the applicable adult entry fee will be charged.
• Exemption from entry fees: FIDE titleholders – GM, IM, WGM, WIM. Entry must be received by the early entry cut off date of 3 August or full entry fees must be paid.
• Players are eligible for one prize only. Rating prizes are based on ACF ratings. Unrated players are not eligible for rating-restricted prizes.
• Forfeit times: Any player who arrives at the chessboard more than 30 minutes after the start of the session shall lose the game unless the arbiter decides otherwise.
• All NSW resident players must be full members of (or join) the NSWCA or the NSWJCL.
